TAP SEMINAR

· Personnel within 12 months of separation, 24 months of retirement or terminal leave date may attend this seminar.
· Days 1 & 2 focus on job search skills to conduct an effective job search. Day 3 focuses on Veterans' Benefits. Spouses are encouraged to attend. Topics include:

· Resumes & Interviewing
· Networking
· Filling out applications
· Dress and appearance
· Local labor market information
· Tricare
· Education Opportunities
· Unemployment Compensation
· Federal Employment
· Veterans' Benefits

The TAP Seminar is a 4-day seminar, 0800-1600 hours each day, held at the Professional Development Center, Rooms 126/147.  Civilian clothes are authorized for this appointment.

DD 2648 - PRE-SEPARATION COUNSELING CHECKLIST (MANDATORY)
· This form will have to be signed off by an AFRC staff member prior to final out-processing.
· This is to ensure all departing military members are aware of resources available for job search, relocation issues, and veterans' benefits; plus much more.

Resumes can be dropped off at the reception desk at the AFRC for review by several staff members. Suggestions will be made to improve your resume.

INTERVIEW WORKSHOP
Learn efficient techniques to interview with confidence.
Workshop is held on the first Friday of each month.

DISABLED TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (DTAP) BRIEFING
The VA conducts a Vocational Rehabilitation (Voc Rehab) briefing the Monday following TAP at 1000. The briefing is held at the Airman & Family Readiness Center. This briefing is for individuals who plan to file for disability and apply for educational assistance through the VA Voc Rehab program. Call 228-5690 to schedule.

SURVIVOR BENEFITS PLAN (SBP) BRIEFING
The SBP counselor conducts an SBP informational briefing the Monday following TAP at 1300. The briefing is for retiring personnel to attain information on the SBP program prior to attending their mandated appointment. The briefing is held at the PDC, Rm 147. Call 228-5690 to schedule.

DISCOVERY RESOURCE CENTER
· Resource books for checkout
· Job listing books for local employment
· Computers available to work on resume and use Internet for job search
· Typewriter available for applications

FINANCIAL COUNSELING
· Budget assessment to project expenses and salary needs
· Information on insurance
· Investments, 401K plans

AZ JOB SERVICE
· Job Service co-located at AFRC
· Computer access to jobs throughout Arizona
· Some interstate capabilities
· Local labor market information
· Rep available Tues & Thurs, 0800 - 1600

FINANCE OUT-PROCESSING CHECKLIST - AIR FORCE AID
· The AFA section of this checklist will be signed off by a AFRC staff member, regarding debts owed to the Air Force Aid Society.
· Bring this with you to your DD 2648 appointment or notify your consultant if you are out-processing via Virtual MFP.
