FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. -- The Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Mustangs competed against the Fort Huachuca Army Black Knights during the Turkey Bowl 2015 at Fort Huachuca, Nov. 20.

The Turkey Bowl 2015 was the second annual flag football game between D-M AFB and Fort Huachuca.

The family friendly event was free to all from both installations. The Fort Huachuca Chaplains' local food lockers collected donations of canned goods, baby supplies and hygiene products.

The Mustangs were comprised of Desert Light Team members of various trades and ran practices twice a week since October.

"We had a lot of people from different units, so getting everyone to practices was definitely a challenge, but we were able to practice several times and get some chemistry to be able to come out and do well," said 2nd Lt. Allante Staten, D-M AFB Mustangs team captain.

The practice paid off as the Mustangs secured their second consecutive Turkey Bowl championship against the Black Knights with a final score of 24-6.
