DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The 355th Fighter Wing Legal Office has upgraded services provided for retirees by increasing their Retiree Will Nights.

With the D-M area's retiree, snowbird, population outnumbering active duty population about 2-to-1, their need for wills to be drafted or redrafted was in high demand.

This demand prompted the legal office to pool their resources together and change their quarterly Retiree Will Nights to monthly.

"We were doing it once a quarter, but we could only get about 20-30," said Capt. Kathryn Martin, 355th FW attorney.  "We now have a system where each attorney can pitch in and we can see between 80-90 retirees within a 4 to 5 hour time period."

The legal office understands the retirees need to keep their will up to date.

"Life circumstances change all the time, like a new grandchild or unfortunate circumstance when someone may have deceased and they have predeceased you and they were previously in your will," said Capt. Nelson Faerber III, 355th FW assistant judge advocate.

With the new process, each will takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.

"It's a service that we are happy to provide," said Faerber.  "We realize that they were us at one point in their career.  It's an honor for us to do so."
