The mission of the 355th Medical Group is to ensure the combat medical readiness of the Desert Lightning Team for global contingencies. With an authorized staff of 472 and a resource allocation totaling $93.5 million, the Medical Group ensures that warriors at Davis-Monthan are medically fit-to-fight; trains, equips and mans 25 mobility teams; promotes the health and wellness of the Davis-Monthan community and meets the health care needs of our 51,600 DoD beneficiaries.

355th Medical Operations Squadron
The 355th Medical Operations Squadron delivers healthcare to over 26,500 active duty, dependent, and retiree TRICARE enrollees. The squadron supports our warfighters and the military family by providing and arranging world class healthcare. Our staff includes 180 personnel who deliver over 132,588 outpatient visits per year. Available services include Primary Care, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Women's Health, Mental Health, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, Chiropractics (active duty only), and other limited specialty services.

355th Aerospace Medicine Squadron
The 355th Aerospace Medicine Squadron provides primary care services for a population of 2500 aircrew and their families and conducts occupational health services for 3800 active duty and civilian personnel across the base. Team Aerospace provides vital health services to foster a fit fighting force for the 355th Fighter Wing and tenant organizations, promotes preventive medicine programs to maintain maximum Air Force readiness, monitors the environment and occupational work areas for hazards and provides CBRNE response for Homeland Defense while supporting worldwide contingency operations. Team Aerospace consists of 70 active duty and civilian personnel making up the Flight Medicine Flight, Public Health Flight, Readiness Flight, Bioenvironmental Engineering Flight, Optometry Flight and the Human Performance Flight.

355th Dental Squadron
The dental clinic provides comprehensive dental services for 8,000 active duty military members assigned to Davis-Monthan and units throughout Southern Arizona. The clinic is staffed with 8 general dentists, 1 prosthodontist, 1 periodontist, and 3 hygienists. The primary mission for the dental clinic is ensuring a dental readiness of active personnel assigned to Davis-Monthan AFB and to prepare the dental staff for deployments. Dental readiness exams are required every 12 months and are scheduled through the Unit Heath Monitors. Additionally, the dental clinic utilizes Tucson's robust healthcare infrastructure to provide prompt, quality dental services in support of operational requirements. All dental services are available with the exception of orthodontics and cosmetic-related procedures.

355th Medical Support Squadron
The 355th Medical Support Squadron plans and directs $34 million in resource acquisition and health services delivery. They provide group logistical and support activities for four operational squadrons with more than 400 members. The MDSS also manages medical group financial and manpower programs, facilities, logistics, administrative support, information systems, managed care, ancillary services, staff education and training, and readiness. They maintain a 208,000 square foot facility, medical dormitory, vehicle fleet, group safety program, and equipment repair/maintenance.
