355th Force Support Squadron

Brief History:
The 355th Force Support Squadron is comprised of two former squadrons, the 355th Mission Support Squadron and the 355th Services Squadron. The 355th Mission Support Squadron was activated 1 May 1992 and the 355th Services Squadron was activated 1 Jan 1998. On 28 Aug 2008, the two squadrons combined and were redesignated as the 355th Force Support Squadron.


Mission (Mission Statement):
The 355th Force Support Squadron is responsible for providing world-class combat and community support by delivering superior morale, welfare, recreation, manpower and personnel program services for the 355th Fighter Wing, the Davis-Monthan community and their families.

Vision Statement:
Building leaders through continuous improvements with quality of life, education programs and superior personnel services delivery.

The 355th Force Support Squadron is extremely diverse. Our family consists of 155 military members, 77 appropriated employees, and 305 non-appropriated employees. We deploy 65 to 70 military members a year yet we are committed to providing world class customer support to the Desert Lighting Team. We are currently the #1 Lodging in the Air Force (Innkeeper Award 2011), the #1 Force Support Squadron in ACC (Curtis E. Lemay Award 2011) sitting on the #1 base in the Air Force (Commander and Chief Installation Excellence Award 2012; #1/161). Moreover, our squadron lives by the core value "Excellence in All We Do", and that is evident by the 2011 Enlisted Professional Military Education Team of the Year (ACC), the 2011 Manpower and Organization program of the Year (ACC), the 2010 and 2011 Innkeeper Awards (ACC), the 2010 Hennessey Award (ACC), the 2011 Best Military Campground in SW USA for five straight years, and two Secretary of Defense Special Recognitions for CINC IE Award (Flight and Individual level).
