Casa de los Ninos
Published March 28, 2008
Casa de los Ninos is a non-profit, nonsectarian crisis care center for children, and a prevention support center for families. Its mission is the prevention of child abuse and neglect by offering services that promote child safety and family stability.
Since 1973, Casa de los Ninos has served over 30,000 children and their families. The services and programs at Casa de los Ninos include emergency shelter for children who are abused, neglected, homeless, and/or medically fragile; supportive counseling to families; and child abuse prevention programs for at-risk families within the Tucson community.
Casa de los Ninos programs are an unfortunate necessity in our community, but through the agency's free services to children and families, children who need a safe place during a family crisis, or a family that needs help in overcoming a crisis situation, all have a place in Tucson to receive support and help.
The 355th Medical Group has developed a close relationship with Casa de los Ninos - the Medical Group recently donated a check from a recent golf tournament fundraiser, Airmen from MDG also make periodic trips to Casa de los Ninos to visit with the children. The 43 Electronic Combat Squadron and 355th Medical Group have helped Casa de los Ninos immensely by collecting items on their "Wish List".
