Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. --
Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup met with 355th Wing Commander Col. Kent Laughbaum on Sept. 8 at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
Mayor Walkup and Colonel Laughbaum discussed the current relationship between Davis-Monthan and the city as well as the future enhancement of that relationship. Additionally, they talked about the upcoming anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks against the United States.
"Davis-Monthan is fortunate to enjoy a positive relationship with the city of Tucson," said Colonel Laughbaum. "I look forward to working with Mayor Walkup and the rest of the city government to further that relationship. Frequent communication and a spirit of teamwork with leaders in Tucson and across Arizona are important to ensuring we can continue to achieve our important mission."
The 355th Wing plans to invite the mayor to the base again in the near future.
