Motto/Slogan/Nickname:
"These things we do, that others may live"

Mission:
The 305th Rescue Squadron is trained and equipped to conduct Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) missions worldwide utilizing the HH-60G "Pavehawk" helicopter. Our primary mission is to penetrate enemy territory, to recover downed aircrew and return them to friendly forces. Additionally, we fly life-and-death search and rescue missions to help locate and recover injured people within the land and coastal boundaries of the United States.

Vision Statement:
To be prepared to conduct CSAR missions anywhere in the world at anytime.

Members:
The 305th RS is a reserve unit that has 46 authorized positions, of which there are 12 full-time personnel and 34 part-time traditional reservists.

Recent Accomplishments:
-April through July 2005- the squadron deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom, during this time the squadron flew several rescues missions, to include the recovery of a lone surviving Seal team member in the mountains East of Bagram, Afghanistan.
-August through September 2005- the squadron deployed to Louisiana and Texas to assist in the rescue of thousands of people in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
-July 2006- the squadron flew 400 miles off the coast of California to rescue an injured sailor.
-January through March 2007- the squadron deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom and rescued 14 injured US military personnel from a crashed H-47 helicopter.
-March through September 2008- the squadron is currently deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and has flown over 340 combat sorties and assisted in saving the lives of over 480 people and two military dogs.
