The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will host a "Hometown Hero" orientation flight the weekend of March 19-21 as part of Aerospace & Arizona Days at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

This program is designed to highlight an individual from Pima County, who has given of themselves to better the local community. A "Hometown Hero" can be anyone, from a citizen who heroically saved a life, to a renowned teacher; from a local firefighter, paramedic or police officer to someone who dedicates their life to working with at-risk children; or from one who mentors children or volunteers as a coach, to a tutor in a youth program.

The "Hometown Hero" orientation flight is a way to showcase Americans doing amazing things in their community.

Nominations are being accepted now through Jan. 15. To nominate Pima County's "Hometown Hero" visit www.dm.af.mil and click on Aerospace & Arizona Days.
