SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's Rock Solid Warrior is Airman 1st Class Justin Skinner, a 43rd Expeditionary Electronic Combat Squadron aircrew flight equipment specialist. Skinner is deployed from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.

The Rock Solid Warrior program is a way to recognize and spotlight the Airmen of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing for their positive impact and commitment to the mission.

Why did you join the Air Force?
I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself

How is your deployed unit/job different from your home unit/job?
Being at my home unit I have fewer interactions with the aircrew members. Being deployed there is less help so I feel there is a lot more responsibility in making the mission go.

What are some of your professional and personal goals?
Professional goals would to get a degree to become a teacher one day and hopefully have the opportunity to coach.
Personal: Improve fitness and become financially comfortable

What is your favorite part of your mission here?
Being around so many great people and having the feeling of direct impact on the mission

What are some of the challenges you face here? How do you overcome them?
Being so far away from home is what I would say is the biggest challenge here. The people out here really make it less of a challenge with their great personalities and family like vibe they give off.

What are some of your hobbies?
Basketball, going to the gym, Madden
