DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The holiday season brings joy to many people, and one thing they may not be aware of is how to remain safe to continue enjoying this time of year.
The 355th Wing Safety team wishes everyone a very merry holiday season and to make sure this happens, here are some helpful tips to consider for one’s personal safety.
- If you have not decorated yet, remember to use non-flammable decorations and do not link together more than three strands of holiday lights.
- Check the lights/decorations to see if they are outdoor or indoor to prevent any issues with the weather.
- If you are hosting a dinner, make sure to cook meats to the correct temperature and keep your cutting boards and preparation areas clean and sanitary to prevent food borne illnesses.
- For shopping safety and security, verify the online site is legitimate and secure. It is recommended that you shop with a friend or a group of people and be on the lookout for suspicious activity.
- Keep your personal belongings, such as, wallet, phone, and purse at the front of your body to prevent theft.
Remember to always have a plan if participating in an event where alcohol is served.
Be safe, be responsible and enjoy the season.
