D-M exceeds Air Force Assistance Fund goal Published July 12, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Timothy Moore 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The Air Force Personnel Center recently released the results of the Air Force Assistance Fund campaign, and Davis-Monthan met and exceeded its goal for 2011. More than 1,200 personnel from D-M donated money to the AFAF, raising a total of $140,992.79 exceeding the goal by $18,716.79. The amount set a new base record and placed D-M third overall in the Air Combat Command for amount raised as well as for a percent of D-M's goal. "The generosity that could be witnessed throughout this campaign was inspiring," said 2nd Lt. Tarah Cotton, 355th Comptroller Squadron. "Even in these difficult economic times, the Desert Lightning Team did not hesitate to open their wallets and their hearts in support of their fellow Airmen in need." Notable mentions on the base are 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) for raising 172.8 percent of their goal and the 355th Maintenance Group for raising the most overall with $32,204.40.
