Fourth of July celebration information Published June 20, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Michael Washburn 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- For July 4, D-M is scheduled to hold a few events to celebrate the holiday. The base pool is slated to be open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Regular admission prices will apply. Kids age 10 and younger will receive a bag with sunglasses, bubbles, patriotic bears, beach balls and temporary tattoos. Free hotdogs will be offered from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., while supplies last. Family oriented games will also be available every hour. Pre-firework events are slated to begin at 6 p.m. at Bama Park. Private organizations will be selling food and games will be available as well as Top 40 music. Firework are planned to begin at 9 p.m. Shuttles for the fireworks are scheduled to start running at 5:30 p.m from Heritage Park, Borman School and the Sonoran Science Academy. Handicap parking is available at Outdoor Recreation and the auto hobby shop parking lot. For those who park there, their cars must have a handicap license plate or handicap placard hanging from their rearview mirror. Feel free to bring lawn chairs and blankets, but do not bring pets, coolers or alcoholic beverages. In the event of inclement weather, walk to Outdoor Recreation, the Community Center, base Theater or the Mirage Club, or take the bus back to vehicle parking areas.
