D-M plans several events for Sexual Assault Awareness Month Published March 29, 2012 By 2nd Lt. Sarah Ruckriegle 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz -- April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In order to increase sexual assault awareness and prevention Davis-Monthan has scheduled the following special events: -April 2-5 & April 28-29: Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) training- No cost basic physical defense classes open to women and female children ages from age 9 to 17. Classes hosted from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on April 2-5 and from 8:00 am to 11:00 and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on April 28th and 29th. -April 6, 11, 19: Clothesline Project- A display with Sexual Assault Awareness information and a table will be set up for decorating T-shirts with inspirational messages to survivors. Dates/times are 6 April, 11:00-1:00pm at the Benko Fitness Center; April 11, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Base Exchange, and 19 April, 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the 355th Medical Group - April 10: "Sex Signals" - three interactive presentations at the Mirage Club looking at dating, sex, and core issue of consent. Presentations will be offered at: 9:00-10:30 a.m., 12:30-2:00 p.m., and 2:30-4:00 p.m. - April 25: Denim Day - Victim Advocates will wear denim and answer questions to help dispel harmful attitudes about sexual assault - Clothing and cell phone drive: Throughout April there will be donation drop off points for the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault at Airmen and Family Readiness Center, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office, 12th Air Force and 612th ACOMS.
