On Oct. 29, D-M is scheduled to participate in a Pharmaceutical Take Back Program here at the BX entrance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This initiative allows members of the community to return outdated, unwanted or unused medications for proper disposal.

For those individuals who plan to turn in medication, please take note of some of the guidelines:

· The program is anonymous and anonymity of individuals disposing of medications is paramount. No questions or requests for identification should be made.

· Please do not drop off inhalers as they explode during incineration. Do not drop off intravenous solutions, injectibles and syringes as they may pose blood-borne pathogen hazards.

· Do not flush any medication down the toilet or a drain unless the label or the accompanying patient information specifically instructs you to do so.

Please see the collection day protocol sheet for a full list of guidelines.
