Gas pumps at the D-M Car Care Class Six Shoppette on Craycroft Boulevard are scheduled to be closed for upgrades Feb. 21-23.

While the Car Care Shoppette is down for renovation, Desert Lightning Team members can still use the Housing Shoppette for their refueling needs.

Currently, the fueling equipment used at the Craycroft shoppette is outdated and replacement parts and service are becoming harder to come by.

"If a problem arose and we needed general maintenance or a certain replacement part, we would not be able to get it with the models we have now," said Mr. Antonio L. Santiago, the shoppette branch manager.

The new pumps are called Ovation Series Dispensers and have many benefits for shoppette patrons to enjoy.

"The new pumps will have easier to read displays and a hose extension feature," said Mr. Santiago. "The hose extensions are a real bonus because they enable the gas nozzle to reach any side of the car. Customers will no longer have to wait for a specific pump to open because of which side they're gas tank is on."

The upgrades are aimed at increasing customer service and satisfaction.

"More consumer-friendly displays and hoses will make it easier for the shoppette to service the customer, which is our main purpose," said Mr. Santiago.

To accommodate the increase in traffic, the Housing Shoppette will be extending its hours from 5:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. until the Craycroft shoppette reopens.
