'Window Wedge' fall protection free to all Soaring Heights residents

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. --  Window Wedges are a means for residents to restrict the opening of windows, thus allowing proactive behavior in the prevention of unnecessary injury to themselves and their family. Window Wedges are small and sleek in design, but most importantly, they save lives.

Window Wedges are FREE TO ALL RESIDENTS and available through a variety of methods. Residents who would like to receive Window Wedges for their homes may make a request by calling the Soaring Heights housing office or maintenance line. Requests may also be made via the Soaring Heights website's Maintenance Request page www.soaringheights.net.

Soaring Heights staff have been educated on the use of these wedges and are available to provide you advice in how to use the products. Installation instructions are also provided on the back of the package. However, to ensure that residents fully understand how to install and also to remove the wedges in case of emergency, all residents will be required to sign a document acknowledging receipt of the Window Wedge product. The document will include a statement of understanding on use and proper installation including information on how to remove the wedges in case of emergencies.

Soaring Heights also provides residents with a limited self-help store with equipment available for delivery to your home. You may submit a work order for delivery of various items such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, air filters, grass seed, yard sale signs, loppers, rakes, shovels, and wheel barrows.

Please note that window wedges are also available through the self-help store. As a way to prevent windows from being fully opening, and thus preventing danger of falls, there is an authorization form that must be signed and turned in to Soaring Heights prior to delivery.
