Chief Master Sgt. Vincent Howard was selected July 14, 2010, to be the new 355th Fighter Wing command chief master sergeant.

"The more I saw Chief Howard conducting business, the more I realized he's exactly the right person for this job," said Col. John Cherrey, 355th Fighter Wing commander. "Just in the short amount of time I've had to work with him, he's been an invaluable resource for me as the new commander. I have complete faith that his extensive knowledge of D-M and stellar leadership will pay dividends for our Airmen."

Chief Howard has served the Air Force for nearly 28 years, the last 15 as a first sergeant. He began his career as a medical technician and has since served at nine different units as a first sergeant, providing leadership and guidance to Airmen of all ranks within operations, maintenance, support, training, and air base groups. He is married to Sarah Howard, a native of the Philippines, and they have four children, ages 11 to 25, and two grandchildren.

The chief commented, "I am both humbled and excited by the opportunity extended to me to serve the needs of our Airmen, civilians and their families, advance D-M's significant mission in any way I can, and represent our commander's vision to D-M's warriors. I look forward to working with our commanders, chiefs, first sergeants, and leaders at all levels to achieve those goals."
