Are you planning to serve food on base through a bake sale, festival booth, or fundraiser event? The first step is to contact the 355th Medical Group Public Health office.

Temporary food booths serving food to the base population for profit must gain approval from public health to determine if foods are purchased from approved sources, proper holding temperatures can be maintained, and that the person in charge is aware of the responsibility to train all other food handlers.

There are many items to consider for temporary food booth approval:

· What foods/beverages/condiments will be served?
· Where will items be purchased?
· Where will items be stored?
· Where will the food be prepared?
· What equipment will be used to main cold (below 41°F) and hot (above 135°F) foods?
· Do employees have proper clothing available? (hats, gloves, close toed shoes, sleeved shirts)
· Will hand washing facilities be available?

When you are ready to start the application for a temporary food booth on base, please call 228-2661/1939. Your cooperation in operating a safe and sanitary food booth is appreciated.
