Col. Charles Hunter, 355th Mission Support Group commander, Col. Peter Hofelich, 355th Maintenance Group commander, and 355th Fighter Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Thomas Schwenk presented four Airmen with on-the-spot Stripes For Exceptional Performers promotions here Dec. 24.

Two Airmen were promoted to E-7: Master Sgt. Ahmad Rashard, 355th Security Forces Squadron, and Master Sgt. Lance Todd, 355th Civil Engineering Squadron.

Two Airmen were promoted to E-6: Tech. Sgt. Chris Starnes, 355th Force Support Squadron, and Tech. Sgt. Adalberto Franco, 355th Component Maintenance Squadron.

The STEP program is a unique promotion program. Each year the Air Force releases a limited number of STEP-promotion slots, which are then divided between major commands and installation wings. Wing commanders must be extremely selective when selecting STEP recipients. To be considered for STEP promotion, Airmen must display outstanding professionalism and excellence in duty.
