Tim Beckham 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The Davis-Monthan Combined Federal Campaign officially kicks off Sept. 16 at 8 a.m. during the annual kick-off breakfast at The Mirage Club and will continue until 31 October 2009. With the ability to reach out to more than 8,000 Federal employees, the D-M goal for 2009 is to collect $433,000 for local, national, and international charities. The Combined Federal Campaign gives federal employees an opportunity to make charitable contributions through the following ways: *Cash - Minimum $10 *Checks - Minimum $10/made out to CFC Payroll Deduction - Funds will be withdrawn beginning January 2010 - Minimum of $2 per month for active duty military/$1 per month for civilian *Guard/ARC-V personnel, Civilian Contractors, and Temporary Hires are able to participate but must give donations in the form of Cash or Check. The Combined Federal Campaign is in its fifth decade of operation. The campaign began in the early 1960s in hopes to coordinate fundraising efforts of various charitable organizations so that Federal donors would only be solicited once throughout the year. "The CFC provides a unique opportunity for our Federal employees to donate to a host of charitable organizations that are involved in a wide range of activities," said 2d Lt Colleen M. Delawder, 355th Communications Squadron, and Davis Monthan's CFC officer in charge. The Combined Federal Campaign provides federal employees an opportunity to donate to hundreds of charities here at D-M including; The Officers Spouses Club, Airman's Attic, Airmen Against Drunk Driving, Family Advocacy, Airmen Family Readiness Center, Operation Warmheart, youth programs, and other morale and welfare programs are all agencies to contribute to through the program. Federal employees continue to make the CFC the largest and most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world.
