Applications now being accepted for the 2010 Executive Leadership Development Program Published May 1, 2009 By 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The Department of Defense has allocated the opportunity for a minimum of two active duty Air Force majors or major selects to participate in the 2010 Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP), scheduled to begin in October. The EDLP is designed for officers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability, a commitment to public service, integrity in all they do, and who also have an interest in moving into senior management positions with the Air Force. While placed in simulated environments, the selected officers must be able to operate in real-life situations which involve short deadlines and they must also be receptive to a unique training methodology whereby they assume responsibility for their learning. Additional, all participants must have the ability to conceptualize and analyze problems effectively. Military participants contribute a vital perspective on the missions, operations, culture and customs of the military and, in turn, learn from their civilian counterparts and senior managers/executives. These shared experiences enrich both military and civilian participants who are being groomed for further leadership roles. To be eligible for EDLP, applicants must be a major or major select who has completed Squadron Officer School, Intermediate Developmental Education (either in-residence or by correspondence/seminar) and successfully occupied a flight or above command position. The deadline for applications is May 13. Contact your local Military Personal Section for more information. Click here for an informational trifold.
