Soaring Heights temporary utility outages Published Feb. 18, 2009 By Meryl Large SHC Marketing Manager DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- In order for personnel to sever SHC homes from the base power grid and safely meter homes, it is necessary to reduce the possibility of injury by completely eliminating the utility sources. Outages will affect all neighborhoods at various times throughout the process. The anticipated schedule is as follows: Feb. 17- Gas interruption, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Kachina Village and Sonoran Vista Feb. 19- Electric interruption, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Kachina Village Feb. 23- Water interruption, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Cullerton Circle Feb. 26- Electric outage, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Palo Verde Village March 2- Water interruption, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Albro (South of Ironwood), Commanders Circle March 9- Water interruption, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Cullerton Circle March 17- Water interruption, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Cullerton Circle March 19- Water interruption, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saratoga Avenue and Circle Based on data obtained from the Civil Engineering Squadron, utility consultants, and Actus Lend Lease construction, this work is being completed to increase base capacity, supporting the growing needs of Davis-Monthan AFB. Initial electrical outages will result in the severance of service from the Air Force. Helpful tips while experiencing a utility outage: · Minimize access to the refrigerator and freezer. · Plan a picnic at a local park. · Entertain children with outdoor play dates or walks through the neighborhood. · Utilize the day to enjoy the zoo or other local attraction.
