Retired Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Sam Parish visited the base Jan. 31 and spoke to several groups, including students at the First Term Airmen Center, members of the 25th Operational Weather Squadron, and attendees of the 355th Fighter Wing/Desert Lightning Team Annual Awards banquet.

He told the group of new Airmen at FTAC that, regardless of the reasons they joined, they are all expected to be productive members of our military. "To be a success in the Air Force," he said, "all you have to do is be the best you can be at what you do, and do it with a smile on your face."

Chief Parish served in the Air Force for more than 30 years, and held the CMSAF position from August 1983 until his retirement June 30, 1986.
