Air Combat Command recently named the 355th Comptroller Squadron's Financial Management office the Financial Management and Comptroller Organization of the Year for 2007.

The Financial Management office, comprised of 31 military and 14 civilians, provides pay and travel service to more than 23,000 customers as well as financial decision support to Davis-Monthan leadership.

The D-M FM office was evaluated in the areas of outstanding achievement, and management of resources. Davis-Monthan competed against 15 other ACC bases before being named the Financial Management and Comptroller Organization of the Year.

Chief Master Sgt. Manuel Robles-Reynoso, 355th Comptroller Squadron superintendent, believes there were significant accomplishments within the FM office that stood out to the raters.

Chief Roblesreynoso said the FM office performed well in day-to-day operations, was the ACC lead for a couple of FM transformation areas, and was the ACC lead base for non-appropriated fund transformation.

Senior Airman Jacquese Smith, a customer service technician in the FM office, says that teamwork and great leadership were also contributing factors that led to their recent success.

"The hard work and dedication of everyone working together, along with the great leadership that we have, were the main contributing factors," Airman Smith said. "We also had a lot of individuals who stood out this year, winning multiple ACC awards."

Not only did the FM office win the organization award, but they had five individual award winners as well.

· Financial Analysis Civilian of the Year (GS-11 and Above) - Ms. Tammy L. Clifton
· Financial Services Officer of the Year - 2nd Lt. Morgan P. Crowder
· Financial Services Civilian of the Year (GS-10 and Below) - Ms. Tia L. Locklear
· Financial Management SNCO of the Year - Master Sgt. Kelly S. Papineau
· Non-appropriated Funds Analyst of the Year-Installation Level - Ms. Alicia Solorio Lt.

Col. Catherine McLoud, 355th Comptroller Squadron commander, said it's great to see a year's worth of hard work pay off in such a tangible way and she is looking forward to the competition at the Air Force level.

"My Airmen, military and civilian, earned this award," she said. "I may be biased, but I think we have the best FM and Comptroller Organization in the Air Force."
