Airmen from multiple units at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base began participating in the 355th Wing’s Exercise Mosaic Lightning 25-01 outside Salt Lake City, Utah, scheduled for Jan. 27 through Feb. 7, 2025.

Mosaic Lightning is designed to exercise current capabilities and respond to a pacing threat to ensure the highest levels of readiness as a Deployable Combat Wing, drawing approximately 390 Airmen and assets from the 55th Mission Generation Force Element, 48th MGFE, 79th MGFE, Combat Service Support Team Lead, and Command and Control Force Element. During the 11-day exercise, which is based on an Indo-Pacific mission scenario, Airmen experience realistic training in a simulated combat environment as a deployable warfighting unit of action.

Exercises such as Mosaic Lightning prepare Airmen and U.S. forces for contingencies in the Pacific to deter the rise of regional and global security challenges, helping to maintain warfighter readiness and ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific.
