The 11th Combat Air Base Squadron, currently deployed to Guam in support of the 11th Air Task Force, participated in exercise Silver Flag during the last week of September 2025 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.

Silver Flag is a multi-day exercise that takes place in late September at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, designed to train and test civil engineering Airmen’s abilities to establish and sustain a fully functional ground base in a simulated deployed environment. The 11th CABS supported Silver Flag by creating time-based, explosive ordinance disposal scenarios and evaluating teams on their ability to successfully complete each task. This exercise enabled training across the Department of War with interagency departments, Allies and partners. Besides different branches of the U.S. military, countries such as Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, New Zealand, and Thailand worked in immersed teams to share knowledge and problem solve during the exercise. This cohesion strengthened partner relationships and refined unit capabilities when working under stress.
