A social event for community residents to meet and greet with Airmen from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base will be held at the Rincon High School Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m.

The event will give the Tucson community a chance to learn about D-M's multiple missions and the opportunity to interact with D-M Airmen.

"I'd like to invite you to come out to meet some of the Airmen from Davis-Monthan," said Col. James Meger, 355th Fighter Wing commander. "It's your chance meet and talk with some of my Airmen and [hear] some of the recent experiences that they've had."

Airmen from the 12th Air Force, 355th Fighter Wing, 563rd Rescue Group, 55th Electronic Combat Group, 25th Operational Weather Squadron, Arizona Air National Guard's 162nd Wing and representatives from the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, more commonly known as the world famous Boneyard, will be available to answer questions about their missions.

The units will have equipment on display including an A-10C Thunderbolt II Gatling gun, HH-60 mini gun, helmets, G-suits, gas masks, chemical warfare gear, a Base Support Emergency Response Vehicle, a fire truck and additional equipment from D-M.

Promptly at 6 p.m., D-M's official mission briefing will be shown and comments from Meger will follow.

Rincon High School is located at 421 North Acadia Ave, Tucson.
