DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. --
An event to kick off the beginning of a 2014 fundraising campaign was held at the Mirage Club, Sept. 4.
More than 200 people attended the Combined Federal Campaign Kick-off Breakfast, which was held to inform attendees of the fundraiser and provided motivation to give while encouraging others to do the same.
Remarks were given by Col. James Meger, 355th Fighter Wing commander and a special guest speaker, Joseph Blair, University of Arizona undergraduate assistant basketball coach.
Blair volunteered to speak at the event to encourage teamwork and community support through the CFC. He spoke of his dedication to community outreach and his drive to provide service to people who really need help.
According to the CFC's website, this campaign is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with almost 200 CFC campaigns worldwide raising millions of dollars each year.
Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season, Sept. 1 to Dec. 15, support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. For more information, please contact your unit CFC representative.
