Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is observing Armed Forces Voter's Week by encouraging everyone to register to vote.

Armed Forces Voter's Week is June 30 - July 7.

The Davis-Monthan AFB Voting Assistance Program works to ensure Service members, their eligible family members and civilian contractors are aware of their right to vote and have the tools and resources to successfully do so.

"The program covers national, state and local election voting," said Maj. John Ware, 355th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Maintenance Operations officer. "We provide the forms and we help fill them out, we have guidance for each state on their process, so we are able to assist in all those areas."

Each unit is responsible for assisting Airmen in establishing voting eligibility. If a Desert Lightning Team member is unable to register, his or her unit voting officer can assist them in the application process.

"We are not here to push political views," Ware said. "We are simply here to assist you acquire the ability to vote."

The voting office will have a booth at the Base Exchange June 30 - July 3 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to provide absentee ballots and voter information to interested parties.
