D-M to hold 4th of July events Published June 25, 2014 By Airman 1st Class Chris Massey 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Events have been scheduled in celebration of our nation's independence at D-M, July 4. The base pool will host a pool party from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be free food and family pool games. Regular pool fees will apply. Shuttle transportation will be located at Heritage Park, Sonoran Science Academy and Borman Elementary School and will depart at 5:30 p.m. Bama Park will open at 6:00 p.m. for pre-firework events featuring live music by Five Way Street Band and games. Food will be available for purchase from private organizations. A 25-minute firework show is slated to start at 9:00 p.m. Handicap parking will be available at Outdoor Recreation and the Auto/Arts and Crafts Center. Vehicles must have a handicap plate or a handicap placard hanging from the rearview mirror. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Pets, coolers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited. In the event of inclement weather, Outdoor Recreation and the base theater will be open for shelter. Shuttle transportation will be in service to take attendees back to the original pick-up locations. Swan Gate will be open after the fireworks for outbound traffic only.
