The 355th Force Support Squadron provides Airmen a way to get out of the dorms and enjoy the outdoors.

"The Outdoor Recreation Center is an alternate outlet to help Airmen and their families, Department of Defense employees and retirees get up and do something that maybe they haven't done before," said Connie Knoob, ODR manager. "We are also here to help reintegrate the Airmen who are returning from deployments and their families back into their normal lives as well."

ODR offers D-M beneficiaries a wide variety of quality outdoor equipment for activities such as camping, boating and parties.

The center also offers more than 30 programs per year. It hosts activities for squadrons, single Airmen and family trips as well. Activities include paintball, skeet and trap shooting and indoor and outdoor swimming.

Airmen who use the ODR's programs find it to be a good way to get out of their dorms and stay active.

"(ODR) allows Airmen like me the chance to experience new things in life and it helps relieve a great deal of stress while enjoying their activities without even knowing it," said Airman 1st Class Nicholas Woodson, 355th Logistics Readiness Squadron material manager. "It's relaxing to know that we have such an escape after working 12 hour shifts throughout the week!"
