The annual DM-50 picnic will be held March 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bama Park here.

The picnic is a free event for active duty members, families, retirees and any guests sponsored onto the base. The DM-50 will be providing a variety of free entertainment, food, drinks and events.

"It is a fun event with entertainment for all base personnel and their families," said Maj. Fe Lobo-Menendez, D-M 50 Picnic Chairman. "This picnic is held every year as a way for the DM 50 organization to show their respect and appreciation for the military personnel stationed here at D-M."

The D-M 50 is a non-profit, volunteer organization made up of a diverse group of greater Tucson civic and business leaders. The organization seeks to improve the quality of life for D-M personnel and their families and to nurture a strong relationship between D-M and the local civilian community.

The picnic will include a canine demonstration, fire engine and police cruiser static displays, an explosive ordinance disposal demonstration, bounce houses and face-painting booths.

This year, the picnic also includes cotton candy and popcorn booths. There will also be a car show. A select few Airmen will be able to include their cars in the car show.

The picnic will also offer 45 minute tours of the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group.

"As uniformed and civilian service members, our heritage and core values outline the need and desire to put our heart and soul into serving a calling greater than our own," said Master Sgt. Damion Tellier, D-M 50 Picnic Co-Chairman. "I cannot think of a better way for us to unwind, stand up to be appreciated for our dedication and hard work, and to bring us all together as military members of the Tucson community than enjoying free food, drink and entertainment in a family atmosphere on the CINC's top Air Force Base."

Parking will be available at Heritage Park, with shuttles running every half hour to the picnic site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
