D-M senior leaders view solar car display

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. - Col. Brian Hastings, 355th Fighter Wing vice commander, prepares to take the University of Arizona's solar car for a drive around the parking lot Oct. 22 here. The car took 10 months and roughly 400 "space grade" solar cells to build. It was built by U of A students as a project for an efficiency race. The race was not about speed, but about how efficient the car was with energy savings. The team unofficially came in second place.
