D-M Airmen salute veterans

Airman Monique Benedict, 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs, speaks to Albert Yankowski during a meet-and-greet session at the 35th Annual "National Salute to Veterans" event at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson. Mr. Yankowski talked with the volunteers about his two years of service in the Army after which he separated in the rank of corporal. Airmen from Davis-Monthan AFB were among hundreds of volunteers from the local area who showed their support and gratitude to Tucson's veterans. Volunteers also handed out thousands of home-made Valentine's Day cards that were sent to the veteran's hospital from the children across the country.
