A-10C course

Senior Airman Chad Goucher of the 357th Aircraft Maintenance Unit marshals 2nd Lt. Aaron Cavazos, a 357th Fighter Squadron pilot, and his aircraft under a sun shade here Aug. 2. The landing marked Lieutenant Cavazos' official completion of the first A-10C pilot initial qualification course in Air Force history. The first class had eight pilots training over seven months, focusing on the new A-10C platform, which features major avionics changes from the A-10A. The pilots were also taught the principles of being an attack pilot Wingman: Be in formation to provide mutual support, be on radios and kill the assigned target on the first attempt.
