Distinguished Flying Cross Award ceremony

Lauwers Jr., 563rd Operations Support Squadron, Special Mission Aviator, with the Distinguished Flying Cross Award during a ceremony at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., Feb. 7, 2014. Lauwers received the DFC Award for executing a precision high angle hoist, which enabled a pararescueman to recover a wounded soldier from an explosive laden hillside in Afghanistan on May 26, 2011.
