Bronze Star with Valor
U.S. Air Force Special Agent Nicolo Solarino, Air Force Office of Special Investigations Det. 217, was presented the Bronze Star Medal with Valor for heroic actions taken while under enemy attack during a 2004 deployment. After his post came under rocket attack, Solarino noticed a fellow Airman suffering from fatal wounds and performed self-aid and buddy care while using his body to shield the Airman from further harm.
