Soaring Heights hosts National Night Out
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Mathew Shoup, 355th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal technician, explains the capabilities of “Gertrude,” a F6A robot, to Chief Master Sgt. Jeremy Ravlin, 355th Fighter Wing command chief, during a National Night Out event held at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2015. This is the ninth year that D-M has participated in the event however, the event has been happening for 34 years around the world. Neighbors celebrate in 16,124 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. While most communities celebrate National Night Out on the first Tuesday in August, Soaring Heights holds its event during October due to Tucson’s extreme heat in August.
