U.S. Air Force 563d Personnel Recovery Task Force rescues Helene survivors
A U.S. Airman from the 48th Rescue Squadron, forward deployed with the 563rd Personnel Recovery Task Force, sets up radio communications with the pararescue team on the ground in Asheville, North Carolina, on Oct. 3, 2024. This operation supports U.S. Northern Command and Air Forces Northern in the Defense Support of Civil Authorities Disaster Relief mission.
