563rd Rescue mission
A U.S. Air Force pararescueman assigned to the 563rd Rescue Group unloads equipment on the flightline after a rescue mission at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, Feb. 6, 2026. Pararescuemen with the 48th Rescue Squadron, one of the units within the 563rd Rescue Group, continually train and prepare in a variety of scenarios and environments, from austere arctic locations to over-water exercises, to ensure they are ready to successfully execute any mission regardless of conditions and challenges.
