D-M will perform routine maintenance on its runway starting March 28 for approximately one month.

The closure will affect fixed wing aircraft only, which includes A-10s, EC-130s, HC-130s, F-16s, and Customs and Border Patrol aircraft, however helicopter operations will continue from D-M.

Many of D-M's flying missions, to include A-10, C-130 and air sovereignty alert F-16 operations, will reside at Tucson International Airport and other locations shifting air traffic from the base to regular takeoff and landing patterns at the airport.

Routine maintenance is required to preserve the integrity of the runway and was last performed in 2002.
