Media Advisory: Irregular noise, flight patterns due to annual Heritage Flight Conference

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. --  Aircraft noise may be more noticeable than usual and flight patterns may appear irregular in comparison to normal air activities conducted at D-M March 1-8 due to Heritage Flight Conference.

Heritage Flight Conference is held each year prior to the beginning of the spring and summer air show seasons to provide a forum for civilian and Air Combat Command demonstration pilots to train together to prepare for the upcoming season.

An HFC performance involves a current Air Force fighter piloted by an Air Combat Command single-ship demonstration team pilot and flown with a historical warbird piloted by a trained and certified civilian HF pilot. The program includes eight active duty pilots (six demo team pilots and two QF-4 pilots) along with nine civilians.

The HFC formations of modern fighters flying with World War II, Korean, and Vietnam era fighters such as the P-51 Mustang and F-86 Sabre, dramatically display Air Force air power history and proudly show the American public the skills and professionalism of their Air Force.

Aircraft showcased from the current Air Force inventory include the F-22 Raptor, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon and A-10 Thunderbolt II.
