Senior Airman Antonio M. Davis, 24, assigned to the 355th Operations Support Squadron, was found dead near the 355th OSS building on D-M at about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 24.

355th Security Forces Squadron officials have ruled the death a suicide after the Nov. 24 incident in which Airman Davis experienced a self-inflicted gunshot wound from a non-government-issued weapon.

Airman Davis was an active duty Aviation Resource Management Journeyman. He enlisted into the Air Force in June 2008 and his home town was Hawkinsville, Ga. He had been awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and Korean Defense Service Medal.

"Every Airman is an important part of the D-M family." said Col. John A. Cherrey, 355th Fighter Wing commander. "Airman Davis's death is a very tragic event for us all, and we are all experiencing this sorrow together."
