Arizona Air National Guard Base Exercise Published Jan. 6, 2010 By 030110 TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Air National Guard's 162nd Fighter Wing at Tucson International Airport will conduct an exercise on base Jan. 8 and 9 to test various functional areas and first responders. Though most of the exercise will be conducted within the base property, motorist may witness elements of the training event while driving by the base entrance on Valencia Road between Campbell and Park Avenue. A number of Air Guard members dressed in plain clothes may be seen gathering in this off-base area intermittently between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Jan. 8, and again between 6 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 9. Media and the general public are advised that this is only a training event for the Arizona Air National Guard and it will not disrupt airport operations or traffic on Valencia.
