Planning Underway to Bring Air Show to Tucson in March Published Dec. 21, 2009 By 021209 DAVIS_MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Aviation enthusiasts and spectators will be invited to attend the Aerospace and Arizona Days air show here March 20-21. The air show will offer the public an up-close look at military and civilian aerial demonstrations and static-display aircraft from across the U.S. The theme for this year's show is "Davis-Monthan: Tucson Pride, Air Force Power." "This theme reflects the long-standing relationship between Davis-Monthan's units and their ties to the Tucson community," said Lt. Col. Tim Krauss, the air show's director. "D-M and Tucson are rich with aviation history and our goal is to highlight the many achievements of the base and of our Air Force that could not have been accomplished without the outstanding support of our local community." Colonel Krauss formed an air show planning committee in May and the group has been busy coordinating aircraft and ground displays, aircraft performances, as well as base and community support. The two-day air show features military and civilian aerial demonstration and static-display aircraft from across the United States. Scheduled performances will feature: the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the U.S Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Team, D-M's own A-10 Demonstration Team, Patriots Jet Team , Tim Weber, Greg Poe, Kirby Chambliss, and D-M Combat Search and Rescue demonstrations. Davis-Monthan's last air show was held in 2007. Aerospace and Arizona Days will be free and open to the public.
