Lendlease, WinnResidential employees partner with Habitat for Humanity Published Sept. 25, 2015 By 040915 TUCSON, Ariz -- Employees with Soaring Heights Communities, part of Lendlease's privatized military housing portfolio and managed by WinnResidential, partnered with Habitat for Humanity to participate in the annual Building Freedom Day, a day that honors the victims and heroes of 9/11. Volunteers worked over a two-day period to help four local families get closer to becoming home owners. On September 11, more than 300 volunteers from 30 local donor companies raised the walls to four of 30 homes that will be completed for families by April 2016. Volunteers were able to complete their tasks on the four homes in less than ten hours. "The volunteers were able to participate through Lendlease's annual Community Day," said Kiki Villanueva, Assistant Development Manager for Soaring Heights Communities. "The mission of Habitat for Humanity and Building Freedom Day are very close to our hearts, and we were honored to have the opportunity to contribute something to this worthy cause." The Lendlease and WinnResidential contribution continued after Building Freedom Day a few days later when nineteen volunteers worked with the Habitat for Humanity crew to hang outer walls on three homes, cut window openings, move trusses for two homes and relocate countless OSD boards and lumber for upcoming use. The team worked almost 100 combined labor hours to complete the tasks. "Our team was eager and excited, and it showed in how quickly and efficiently we worked," said Carolyn Decker, Director of Property Management for Soaring Heights Communities. "Habitat for Humanity is a noble cause by itself, but to be a part of the Building Freedom Day build made it even more special."
