Dinner for deployed service member’s families Published March 31, 2015 By 080315 DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Families of deployed service members from D-M will be served dinner, April 1 from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. With 1,100 Airmen deployed from D-M, the base is focusing on taking care of families affected. This dinner is hosted through the Airman and Family Readiness Center, which offers a few events each month that give parents an opportunity to connect with other deployed families for support. The AFRC holds many events to support those left behind such as a monthly 'Give Parent's A Break', which is 4 hours of free childcare, a welcome home banner night and various other community field trips. The number of Airmen deployed right now is more than double the normal amount. The deployed Airmen come from nearly every unit on base with the most significant numbers taken from the 354th Fighter Squadron, the 355th Mission Support Group, the 355th Maintenance Group, the 563rdRescue Group and the 55th Electronic Combat Group. The number of Airmen deployed comprises 15% of the total number of Airmen assigned to D-M.
