During the next week and weekend in preparation for D-M's Thunder and Lightning over Arizona Open House, local citizens may inquire about aircraft that are flying noticeably lower, faster, louder or in close proximity over Tucson.

Base officials emphasize that modified flying conditions are temporary and standard for an open house. All flights have been thoroughly deconflicted with area flights, in coordination with the Tucson Airport Authority and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Citizens can be referred to D-M's flight operations hotline at 228-5091.

The free, open-to-the public Thunder and Lightning over Arizona Open House is typically held every two years to showcase military air power and express appreciation for the local community's continuous support for D-M.

This year's Open House will be held April 12 and 13.
