D-M Open House April 12th and 13th Published April 1, 2014 By 050314 DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Members of the local community are invited to D-M's 2014 'Thunder and Lightning over Arizona' Open House April 12-13. The base will open its doors for this free event to showcase military air power and express appreciation for the local community's continuous support of D-M's missions. The Open House will feature exciting aerial demonstrations, numerous static displays, and an inspiring performance by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Those attending will also have the chance to talk to D-M's outstanding Airmen and gain a better understanding of your Air Force and Davis-Monthan. Local citizens may enter the base through Swan and Craycroft gates beginning at 9 a.m. on both April 12th and 13th. Aerial demonstrations will begin at 11 a.m. and the Thunderbirds will perform at 2 p.m. Inbound traffic for the Open House will be halted at approximately 2 p.m. There will be 14 aerial demonstrations including B-25 and P-51 flybys, a demo by the Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Team, the Red Bull Helicopter and a performance by your very own Desert Lighting Team.
